After update to version 1.9, GPS won't turn off after I kill the process.
It seems like new bug.

I have to disable Galileo at the iOS's Location Service menu, to avoid battery draining...

While you're just browsing map - Galileo uses tracking of significant location changes by analyzing cellular data and nearest wifi's. GPS chip did't used and it didn't drain your battery contrary it even saves charge. Also Galileo didn't subscribed for background location event's so when you're exit from application - it didn't receive any GPS data. Don't worry about that.

Hello,

I can confirm the original bug report. Even if Galileo is not running and hasn't been started after a cold reboot the location services icon on the task bar is "on" as long as location services is toggled on for Galileo. If you toggle the location services off in the system preferences then the icon turns off. This is unlike all other GPS applications. I am running ios4.3 on an iPhone4.

Thanks.

Next version with small fixes will be released in one and half week. And as i wrote before, i repeat: even if Location services icon is on - gps is turned off and it didn't drain your charge. and it most likely bug in iOS firmware. Anyway i'll do my best to remove this icon in next version.
